Cruelty-Free Cosmetics & Guide to Reading Labels

October 15, 2014By 0 Comments

Hello everyone, my name is Sarah Henderson and I am the author of iHealthMarket.com, you can check out my latest publication here.

I am sure you are all aware that in 2013 a new law was passed in Europe prohibiting animal testing to be used on new cosmetics and beauty products – this is fantastic news for us naturalists out there! But, this is just within the EU, there are other countries in the world where companies still get away with animal testing as it is the norm there. I have gone ahead and created the following infographic on the companies that are 100% against cruelty to animals, so these are some of the good guys to buy products from:

Other companies that I found were heading up offices in international markets where animals were still being mistreated and tested upon. Unfortunately, there is nothing the EU could possibly do here to stop them importing and selling the products onto EU markets. So companies have generally been working around the new ban and opening up factories elsewhere, so beware of who you buy off!

If any of you guys would like to see more on this ban please check that out here.

The lifespan of campaigning for the ban was hundreds of years, quite literally! The span goes from 1898 – 2013, that was quite a long hard slog but got there in the end, eh? 🙂

I also have yet another surprise for you all, I recently produced a piece on labels and stamps, quite a lot of people are getting confused as to what is natural and cruelty-free, so I went ahead and created yet another infographic to outline which stamps are good and which are bad. So, without further ado:

I hope you enjoyed reading this publication and I am happy to take any questions you may have, please feel free to comment – I welcome all, good and bad! If you wish to contact me for anything or just follow me, then feel free to do so on Google+.
